Pro-E display problem. Please help!

Pro-E display problem. Please help!

(OP)
I have been encountering some very annoying display problems when running Pro-E 2001 (release code 3320)and hope that some bright spark out there can suggest a fix.

When attempting to spin or otherwise re-orient part models and assemblies, the screen will do one of the following, until the image has refreshed:
. Black out completely.
. Become swamped with multi colored patterns.
. Display an image of a part or assembly that is no longer in session.
. Display a static image of the part being spun.

The problems have occured since the "time out" bug for which I have installed the patch. Just prior to this I did a series of windows updates, including one for the video card (GeForce4 Ti4200). Prior to this, Pro has been stable for months.

Any suggestions...please and thanks!!!

RE: Pro-E display problem. Please help!

Is the new video driver that ypui installed certified by PTC? CAD graphics are very flaxy and certain graphic card driver version can cause strange problems.

I once had a certified driver that would take over an hour to load a 75MB part file. When I went to the next rev of the driver, the same file would load in 4-5 minutes.

Thank you for your response. We don't have a current PTC maintenance contract, so I'm not quite sure how to check if the driver is certified. FYI the driver revision is  6.14.10.5216. In the mean time, I will try and track down the original driver that came with the card.
Thanks again!

After much weeping and nashing of teeth, I can confirm that it was a driver issue. I found the driver in nvidia's archive; it being revision 45.23 for anyone else that might be experiencing the same problem.
Thanks again.

We have this same problem on a few workstations that were recently rebuilt.  I have tried this solution on one and it fixed the problem.  Thanks a bunch for this info...
