Face inversion makes smooth edge become sharp

Face inversion makes smooth edge become sharp

(OP)
Hello.

I have a part that I am translating from V4 to V5 with history. I have been able to work through all of the errors except for one. It is a feature definition error on a Thickness feature. The error says, "Face inversion makes smooth edge become sharp." There is a face that shows highlighted in yellow with a red line through it.

Does anyone have any idea how to get around this error? Or do you know of a different way to approach removing material around a contoured part? For example, in I-DEAS, I could do a variational sweep to remove the material.

Thank you in advance.

Sheryl
