Save As PDF Cuts off edges of Drawing

Save As PDF Cuts off edges of Drawing

Save As PDF Cuts off edges of Drawing

(OP)
Hello,

I am trying to save a drawing file as a pdf form using the add in in Solidworks.  Unfortunately, it cuts off the edges of the document.  Can someone share a quick solution to this problem?

Thanks

RE: Save As PDF Cuts off edges of Drawing

Try unchecking "high quality" in the print set up dialog box and then saving the pdf file.  There is some sort of bug with the high quality print setting and the pdf software.

RE: Save As PDF Cuts off edges of Drawing

I  believe you "page setup" like you would print something then sav as.

RE: Save As PDF Cuts off edges of Drawing

I have full up Adobe. It works as a print driver and you have to make sure your page setup and "printer" options are correct - including the paper size!!!!  When you use a "print driver" like this it utilizes the standard Windows print facilities and you do a Print, not a Save As. I assume the Blue brand is similar.

RE: Save As PDF Cuts off edges of Drawing

Actually, the "Save as PDF" option and the Bluebeam full blown package behave differently. Save as or print to PDF you have to pay attention to options as JNR noted. The full blown Blue seems to behave so far...

RE: Save As PDF Cuts off edges of Drawing

Just a note:  PDF's are really great for sending drawings to people.  Anyone can view them and no-one can change them (without it being obious anyway).  Sometimes that's a real plus.

RE: Save As PDF Cuts off edges of Drawing

Just a note.  I had title block text being clipped but not the TB itself. (strange problem) I fixed it by changing my HP laserjet 8150N default setting to "allow edge to edge" printing.

BTW, I have a differnent issue with BlueBeam which, I will look up, or start a another thread.

RE: Save As PDF Cuts off edges of Drawing

When saving the pdf, you are allowed to opt into 'Page Setup' which may or may not (depending on your printer driver) allow you to scale the drawing down. Some computers allow this, some don't - hopefully you luck out here.

RE: Save As PDF Cuts off edges of Drawing

Are you having a problem with print to scale verses scale to fit?  You can't usually print a full 8.5X11 (or whatever) on an 8.5x11 piece of paper.
