Bolt Specs - Grade 5 vs. SA-449

(OP)
Bolt markings are identical for SAE J429 Grade 5 and ASTM A449 Type 1.  Are these specifications identical?  In other words, if I buy a "Grade 5" bolt, am I automatically getting a bolt that conforms to ASTM A449?

RE: Bolt Specs - Grade 5 vs. SA-449

Based on the Machinery’s Handbook 26 (pg 1488) it seems to be identical.
