Instrument Training

(OP)
I’m looking for a course (preferably NW England) for an electrically trained person to learn the fundamentals of hazardous area process instrumentation.

I’ve been on the 3 day instrument COMPEX course, which was very good but didn’t go into any detail on actual field instruments.

Any advice would be much appreciated,

Alan

RE: Instrument Training

Alan,

Suggest you approach MTL as a possible provider, although they are biased toward I.S. equipment as this is their main market. Alternative could be SIRA, although I've no experience on their courses.

There a few possibilities in the Teesside area serving the local petrochemical industry's needs. A possible lead, subject to your own evaluation, could be NETA in Stockton. Teesside isn't so far from the North-west, and you could experience a better, dryer, way of life.
