Dissolving Error

Dissolving Error

(OP)
I get this message when trying to dissove a subassembly:

"A selected component could not be moved. An example of a component that cannot be moved is an instance of a component pattern."

I've seen things similar to this if there were component patterns in the assembly, but this error happens to reference a circular pattern with no external links.

Any idea why this is happening and/or a work around in the meantime?  Frustrated.  SW2003 SP5.0

Thanks again!

RE: Dissolving Error

Well, found a work-around, but would still like to understand why this happened in the first place.

The components with the pattern were suppressed, used only for reference. As soon as they were unsuppressed, the dissolve worked. Wish it would just dissolve and leave them suppressed. Can't have it all.
