Recommended books on Heat Transmission

Recommended books on Heat Transmission

(OP)
Was wondering if anyone could recommend to me any books on Heat Transmission/Transfer.

At the moment my boss has a copy of 'Heat Transmission' by McAdams, but I can't get hold of a copy as it is out of print.

I'm looking for something to refresh my memory from Uni heat transfer lectures, but also look more in depth at power station boiler heat transfer calculations.

Thanks for any help.

Andy.

RE: Recommended books on Heat Transmission

Process Heat Transfer by DQ Kern has a chapter which deals with combustion chambers and boilers apart from other beautiful topics.

Heat Transfer by Incropera & Dewitt and Fundamentals of Heat Transfer by JP Holman are my other favorites.

Regards,

I agree, Kern's book rocks!

Good luck,

Many thanks for the comments.  I think I'll give 'Kern' a go, especially if it's got stuff on combustion chambers etc!

Cheers,

BFG.

RE: Recommended books on Heat Transmission

BFG,

I was away in Asia and Europe for two weeks.  If you have not bought Kern yet, it's available on the used book market in two forms.  The hardback one is quite expensive.  There is also an international, softback version.  It's quite affordable, just beware of folks trying to sell one of these making believe it is the hardback!

Good luck,
Latexman
