PTF-SAE Short Thread

PTF-SAE Short Thread

(OP)
Is a PTF-SAE Short thread the same as an NPT thread, but a dry seal variation? We are in a mechanical/hydraulics industry and we constantly use NPT, UNO, BSPP and BSPT threads but have not come across PTF-SAE short. I was wondering if they are compatable (ie: can you screw a PTF-SAE short male thread into an NPT female thread?).

RE: PTF-SAE Short Thread

Try Thread281-64066
This has a lot of information about pipe threads.
