hello all
i am to get productive on P3 asap and while going through Eastwood Harris´ book which was recomended here I feel that his it´s workshops at the end of each chapter, though good for each chapter, lack having an "overall" workshop with which to put into practice all what one should have learned when reaching the en of the book
does anyone know where to download examples of P3 schedules so as to get into them to see how they are organized/structured. let´s say something similar to eastwood harris´downloadables but more complex
thanks and happy 2004!

The Associated General Contractors of America (AGC) has a very good scheduling book available. It is adaptable to any software, but Primavera did have a lot of input. Contact them to get a copy, it is about $100 US.
Secondly, I would suggest going to the Primavera website and looking at some of the information they have available.
Lastly, build some small schedules say for a house or for some part of a building or for erecting a masonry wall. It will give you many insights into how to put the schedule together without doing such a large schedule that you get lost in the details. Something on the order of 15 to 30 activities will give you all the basics.
P3 can have a large learning curve, so start small and work your way through it a few operations at a time. Be sure to kept the manual at hand and take notes as you go.
Good luck.

I would have to agree with jheidt2543 on P3 having a large learning curve. It's a very complex program but well worth the time to learn.
