TOC enrichment in alkaline solutions

TOC enrichment in alkaline solutions

TOC enrichment in alkaline solutions

(OP)
The objective is to enrich the TOC in caustic solutions derived from alumina refining.  Feed temperatures could be from 50 - 95ºC and alkalinity from 5 - 100 g/L NaOH (i.e. pH > 12) and concentrate flows from 5 - 30 m3/hr.  The TOC is mostly sodium carboxylates and fulvates/humates.
Any advice on manufacturers, membrane chemistry, etc gratefully received.  Have had previous positive results with sulphonated polysulphone but haven’t looked at this problem for 10 years.  Have there been any developments since then?  Who are the current potential technology/membrane suppliers?
