RE: ploter error...plotter configurations cannot be used.. the none plot d
this sounds like what might be happening
you have some old pc3 files that were configured to use the old drivers are looking for the old drivers but either they wont work or are not there so you would need to recreate the plotter(s) driver in windows and then redefine your pc3 files some times if the plotter is named the same thing the old pc3 will read the new driver i think it only happens with the newer hp though

Make sure you have all available updates/patches installed and check that you have the latest drivers even though you say you have em you may not. second there is a Win 2k service pac 2 now dont quite know what it entails but its worth a shot also shorten the name of your plotter and or its path if possible if a networked printer/plotter other than that all i can say is what kind of printer u got

RE: ploter error...plotter configurations cannot be used.. the none plot d
I got this after I removed a system printer driver for a HP Laserjet 5000 from the Windows control panel-printers.
I removed the situation as follows :
- I exited Acad
- I moved the .PC3 files from c:\program files\acad2000\plotters to some other dir (NOT below plotters, as Autocad gathers all PC3 filenames in the plotters dir and those under it)
- started Acad2000
- opened the plot dialog box (no PC3's where shown then)
- exited Autocad again
- put the PC3 files back into the \plotters dir, and voilà ! the warning message had disappeared
the cause for the error seemed to be conflict between a list of PC3's that Autocad keeps in some config file or cached, and the actual list of PC3's (or their contents).
anyway, who cares what the real cause is ? with all those bugs around, I already am happy to find a workaround.
RE: ploter error...plotter configurations cannot be used.. the none plot d
Autocad 2000 seems to save the PC3 name with the .DWG ?
anyway, with a new drawing, I get no error, with existing drawings I do. so I don't know whether the workaround really works... sorry for the confusion. anyone have any clearer ideas ?
