ASTM and ISO test method

(OP)
Hi guys,

If I have 2 parts which are the same tested but their testing results were based on different testing method i.e. ISO and ASTM, will I still be able to compare them? The results show different unit and I'm not sure if I can just convert the unit and make comparison.

Thanks for any input.

RE: ASTM and ISO test method

It depends on which testing you are doing. For example it is not advisable to compare the test results of Charpy Impact results in mmarginal cases. That is, when the test results are very near to the minimum specified levels.
