GENERAL PURPOSE EQUIPMENT INSIDE HAZARDOUS ZONE
GENERAL PURPOSE EQUIPMENT INSIDE HAZARDOUS ZONE
(OP)
Analyzer Building, project what I started a some time ago, provides better ventilation system and reduction of classified area from Division 2 Group B to Division 2 Group D. Building is very old with some existing equipment as "general purpose equipment" ( lighting, fans) i.e. with unclassified equipment inside hazardous classified zone.
I have to STAMP this project as P.Eng. but I am refusing.

Anyway, I think that's besides the point. You can't put GP lighting fixtures in there, they're not T-rated, there's no guarantee that their surface temperature will not exceed the ignition temperature. That's a no-no in Div 2.
GP fans may be OK -- BUT -- you need to make sure that there are no arcing devices inside the fans. If you have integral overloads in the motors, you'll need to pull them, relocate them to a GP area, and replace them with solid jumpers.
