Need Specification Outline

Need Specification Outline

Can someone direct me to a good specification outline that I can use to write a specification for a single stage steam turbine to drive a 900 HP centrifugal air compressor?

RE: Need Specification Outline

Dear Danra
Have you seen the API Standards? "The objective of API publications is to provide a purchase specification to facilitate the manufacture and procurement of units for refinery service". Even if you are not working in the oil industry, it is a good starting point! I have used the API-sheets many times. Your first choice would be between a "General-Purpose Steam Turbine" and a "Special-Purpose Steam Turbine". Do not forget to specify : 1) "Lubrication for Special-Purpose Applications", 2) "Special-Purpose Gear Unit", 3) "Special-Purpose Coupling" and think about inspections during manufacturing, new construction, commissioning and startup! All these topics are mentioned in the relevant API Standards. If you have any questions for this old dutch engineer, do not hesitate to write me: mielkal@xs4all.nl Good luck, regards from mielkal.
