hedgehog packing in scrubber
hedgehog packing in scrubber
(OP)
I am looking at the re-use of an existing scrubber which uses 'hedgehog' packing. I don't have any data on the packing characteristics. Does anyone have any data on this type of packing or any idea where to find any?

RE: hedgehog packing in scrubber
The only thing that I've ever seen that could remotely resemble a hedgehog is a plastic variation on the Berl or Intalox Saddle. Could it be a Telleratte?

Perhaps they also have another name. The original spec is Swiss, and mentions Igel (Igel is german for hedgehog).

A few years ago we had the same problem: considered they were equivalent to 2" Pall Rings (for Kga) and the scrubber has been running well ever since.

I would check with Clemson and see if they have some data either the manufacturer or from the unit operations lab.
