I looking for information on using ethernet to retrieve information directly from my PLC's (GE 9030). I would like to develop my own monitoring HMI. I need to understand the basic addressing structure and how to point to specific location in a PLC. I will either use VB or pull the information directly into Excel.

///Please, clarify the specific location in PLC to be accesses\\\

///Please notice that the PLC is normally hard to access inside software wise or hadwarewise.\\\
