2004 crashes when opening r14 files

(OP)
We currently have 2004 on 3 machines, 14 on 7 machines. 2 of the machines w/ 2004 crash when opening certain files that were saved in r14. 1 machine w/ 2004 has no problems, but even when saved from the 2004 machine that can open it the 2 2004 machines can not open that file, it will get to a certain percentage and not respond....any help would be great....

RE: 2004 crashes when opening r14 files

DO THE MACHINES WITH THE PROBLEMDS MEET THE SYSTEM REQUIREMENTS FOR AUTOCAD 2004? THAT WOULD BE MY STARTING PLACE. ALSO HOW BIG ARE THE FILES?

RE: 2004 crashes when opening r14 files

RE: 2004 crashes when opening r14 files

I have heard that VS/2004 will not support R14. Check with Autodesk people to see what needs to be done about getting your R14 Autocad files into a format your solftware can use.  Check machine 1 version and maybe you can save R14 file in XDF format and try to bring the file in VS/2004. Hope this helps - John
