Welding joints without filler

Welding joints without filler

Welding joints without filler

(OP)
Hi,

Does anyone know what to call welding which requires no filler. In german it is called "verschwemmt" but I have been unable to find a translation into english. We put this text on drawings of sheet metal parts where a mortice joint between two st. steel parts is welded after assembly to give a permanent joint. The two parts are literally melted together from one side to give a smooth permanent joint.
Many thanks.
Matt
