Need Help w/ Copy Instruction

Need Help w/ Copy Instruction

(OP)
I know this is a simple question, but my experience with Allen Bradley PLC's is limited. In an existing program, I  have a COP instruction that is moving some data from a DeviceNet Scanner module (1747-SDN) to an 'N' file in my SLC 5/05 processor. My particular application uses the COP command with the following:

Source:  #M1:1.42
Destination:#N28:92
Length: 15

My question is this...
In this COPY instruction, does the 'length' parameter refer to words, bytes, or bits?

Thanks for your help!

Hi JesperMP,

Thanks!

The length is the number of destination elements. So if the destination is a word, than the length refers to words. If the destination is a timer, than the 1 length = 3 words.

In your particular example, it is words.
