Bellows expansion joints in STAAD

Bellows expansion joints in STAAD

(OP)
I am attempting to determine the axial, lateral and rotational specs for bellows expansion joints in an existing pipeline run.  How would this be done in STAAD?  I have divided up the line into two anchor sections, and then applied a temperature load, in separate models, and took the displacement of the common free node (where the expansion joint would be), to calculate the necessary axial, lateral displacement necessary.  Is it that simple?
