RE: Closed cell elastomer o-ring

O-rings are not defined as closed cell or open cell as is sponge rubber .  You need to decide what elastomer is proper for your application, eg., Nitrile, FKM (DuPont Viton), Silicone etc.  Call a Parker o-ring distributor or go their web site, www.parker.com, they will have a distributor finder in the or-ring division's site. I use Staver Hydraulics, www.staverhydraulics.com, but use whomever you are confortable with.

RE: Closed cell elastomer o-ring

Colonial BPP in Dyersburg Tenn.Mauufacturers Molded sponge O rings.
