CATIA NC machining postprocessing
CATIA NC machining postprocessing
(OP)
I am having problems when postprocessing
catia v5r10. I can not get in ISO tape
file other arc commands (g2 and g3) but only
in one plane (example X-Y). How can I get
arc comands in all planes? I have tried
with option 3d circular interpolation without
success?

RE: CATIA NC machining postprocessing
Select the "Machine editor" from the "Part Operation" dialog, and then make sure that the "use 3D circles" check-box is selected.
This selection ensures that CATIA outputs standard APT conforming CYLNDR (cylinder) definitions of canted circles, and is required when using the ICAM post processor.

If you mean "3D circular interpol." I have allready tried that as I mentioned in previous post.

RE: CATIA NC machining postprocessing
- Check the "Options" tab of the "Generate NC Output in Batch Mode" function. The "Circular interpolation" option should be set to either "Automatic" or "Any axis circles".
- Check the generated aptsource file and look for a TLON,GOFWD/(CYLNDR/... command where you expect circular interpolation. If this command appears in the aptsource, at least you know that the problem is in the post processor and not in the CAM system. If you are using the ICAM post processor, email support@icam.com with your issue to get the ball rolling.
