How to suppress a feature in family table

How to suppress a feature in family table

How to suppress a feature in family table

(OP)
just like proe is there any option to suppress a feature in family table so that we can make the alternative design in a singlepart
if it is not, suggest a way

RE: How to suppress a feature in family table

If family table in ProE is equivalent to the I-DEAS History Tree then how about ....Supress Feature ;-)

RE: How to suppress a feature in family table

(OP)

Let me explain in detail.I want to make a family table of a part with casting and machining instances. For that i have to suppress some features in some instances.

RE: How to suppress a feature in family table

Crate an assembly and suppress instances ( parts inside of a assambly) or you can supress features within the part too.

RE: How to suppress a feature in family table

Is there a reason you wouldn't just derive the casting part from the machined part at the history node b4 you start doing the machining operations?

RE: How to suppress a feature in family table

The benefit is that then you have one drawing for the casting and one for the machined part (which your company likely wants/needs for inspections, etc), but as you update the individual parts, the required changes propagate as desired.
