I need technical information about ballastcrete
I need technical information about ballastcrete
(OP)
I don’t know this is the right forum but I would like to know about:
what kind of concrete or mud the ballastcrete is, if it produces deposits in the bottom of tanks, how the operation of ballastcrete pumps by hydraulic system is possible and any information about this theme.
regards, and thanks in advance

RE: I need technical information about ballastcrete
Perhaps what you are referring to is similar to the deposits that form inside water pipes as a result of 'hard' water. This is due mainly to dissolved calcium carbonate in the water, which is slightly soluble, and the solution is sensitive to variations of pH and dissolved gases (carbon dioxide etc) in the water. The calcium carbonate precipitates and attaches to the walls of the pipes as 'scale' or 'limestone'. It is chemically similar to one of the ingredients in portland cement concrete.
