Assembly
Assembly
(OP)
Hi everybody,
I saved an assembly file with different name using "save as" and when I tried to open later, I am getting a warning messgae like:
1.prt "Failed to find file using current search options, part left unopened"
2.prt "Failed to find file using current search options, part left unopened"
and none of the parts were loaded.
Can anybody help me to solve this problem. I am using UGNX
Thanks in advance.

RE: Assembly
Use search paths to allow UG to find the files where ever they are. With such generaic names as 1.prt, etc, this may be a problem.

RE: Assembly
How is it possible to check whether the indivitual parts created in Assembly or linked to an external source.
Actually I was trying to open the file from one folder and to save in another folder with a different name.
Can you please explain to me how to link these to the original source.
Thanks once again

RE: Assembly
You want to have 2 assemblies that reference the same components, with each assembly in a different directory? Not a problem, you will have to use load options like Derek explained and use the Search Directories option and set your search paths.

RE: Assembly
It works
I could even copy the linked parts to the new location.
It is working both ways
Thank you once again
RE: Assembly
We have a free utility you may find usefull when you wish to copy an assembly to another directory under new (or the same) names. Please see the "Save All As" utility on the Download page of SolidNX.com
