Exporting images to Word
Exporting images to Word
(OP)
Can anyone tell me an efficient way to export an image of a Pro/E object into a format that can be inserted as a picture into an MS Word document? I am interested in transfering both shaded color images and black and white drawing type images, and need to strike a balance between file size and picture clarity/resolution.
Thanks
Thanks

For shaded images, do the following:
Change the blended background with a solid color(not used on the components) / or white color
Be sure the main window is activated and press ALT+PRTSCREEN
Paste the image in word and CROP and SCALE it to the right dimensions. You can use the "Remove background" tool to make the background transparent or you can let it white if you have the white color background.
For drawings, the best format is CGM (vector based). Save the drawing in CGM format AFTER you changed the system colors to BLACK on WHITE.
Good luck

For drawings, exporting as TIFF file works fine too.

I use a program called "Snag It" to window exactly what I want and export it to the file type I want.
http://www.techsmith.com you can get a 30 day trial from them.
Besides my use of "Snag it", Hora is right on.

I never heard of HIJAAK before.
But the idea is there.
Going the other way.
Insert-object (or ALT-I-O) will get you files on a Pro/E drawing.

We are not re-inventing the wheel. Just skip some steps like "save as file" and then "import" it. Why do you need to keep the garbage on the disk when you can use the windows clipboard? And it's faster in this way than your method. Save as... type the name, import the file in word (somemtimes tkes minutes to see where the jpeg was saved).
I agree with Matt and others for a better Windows screen capture to reduce the size of the file.
