Swimming pools

(OP)
Hi,

I have (the design of) a hotel and a swimming pool on the roof and another one at the ground level in front of it.

The upper pool and utilities are covered by a glazed dome, the lower pool is "outdoor".

Can you please tell or point out the relative NFPA 72 requirements for both locations?

Thanks!

RE: Swimming pools

You may refer to NFPA 70 as well for swimming pool lighting and the necessary protection required.

RE: Swimming pools

I would think ( have done in past for swimming pool in educational facility in the USA), the covered pool area shall be treated as any other area (more akin to a gym or small auditorium) for locating the notification devices, you obviously do not need fire/smoke detection, but check with local fire marshal. Manual pull stations should suffice as initiating devices.

The devices should be listed for use in damp areas (gasketed).

I do not think you need any fire alarm devices for the 'outdoor' pool or any outdoor areas are covered by NFPA 72 for that matter.

Also look up building codes addressing the swimmig pool areas which would direct to applcable fire codes.
