I am looking for a macroetchant for KOVAR that can be used with a minimum amount of ventilation

The following macroetchant is recommended for iron-nickel alloys, so it may be suitable for kovar:

50 mL saturated aqueous CuSO4
50 mL HCl

Swab or immerse at room temperature.
