Win 2K / ProE FRUSTRATION!!!

(OP)
Someone please set me straight... for the life of me I can't get the setup program to run off the PTC cd. I'm running an OS that was originally a win 98SE, now is win 2K.

I can open the cd in explorer, just can't get the setup.exe to actually open. Where did I screw up???

RE: Win 2K / ProE FRUSTRATION!!!

There is an environment variable that existed in Win9x systems that satys around after the upgrade to a newer OS. This variable is confusing the Pro/E install. Search the Pro/E web site for a FAQ, it is explained in there. I have found it a couple of times, so you should be able to find it too.

I believe that there is a different install CD for W98 and W2K as well.  Make sure you're using the correct one.

Thanks Looslib! I'll have to see what I can find. I did a quick check on the PTC site, but got discouraged quickly. I'll take a look in the environment setting for windows and see what I can find.

I'm running W2K, but can't get the NT setup file to run. The 98 disk runs fine, but the installation doesn't work in w2k.
