Epoxy For Bonding Carbon Steel To Carbon Steel

Epoxy For Bonding Carbon Steel To Carbon Steel

(OP)
Hello,

I am trying to come up with a way to attach piping supports to a pressure vessel with out welding. The vessel Temp. is ambient, and I will be using a 10"x 10"x3/8" Thk pad on the vessel shell to attach the supports to, but I would like to attach the pad to the shell with Epoxy. I am thinking about 45,000 Psi Ten Str. Epoxy. I have not worked with Epoxy in the past and would like any input on this subject.

Thank You,

QAScott

RE: Epoxy For Bonding Carbon Steel To Carbon Steel

I recommend going to the 3M adhesives Internet site:

http://www.3m.com/adhesives

Choose Product Selector on the left side, then choose Surface Bonding Selector in the middle of the page.  You can go through the selection process - surface 1 is metal, surface 2 is metal, then you can select 2-Part Epoxy for Adhesive Technology.  This will give you the exact product they supply that matches your needs.  Good luck.

Regards,

Cory
