FRP Reinforcement

FRP Reinforcement

(OP)
I am currently working on an existing project where the owner has asked me to compare strengthening the structure with FRp's vs. shotcrete. Does anyone have a ballpark figure on the cost of FRP's per square foot?

Thanks

Joe Nicholson

RE: FRP Reinforcement

Contact Sika Corporation (www.sika.com).  They are one of the leading manufacturer's of carbon and glass fiber reinforcing systems.  They can tell you material costs, and likely put you in touch with a factory certified contractor in your area.

FRP repair is not cheap, so it is normally used when other methods are inappropriate for one reason or another.

What type of structure are you looking to strengthen?  For what reason are you strengthening it?  With a little more insight, perhaps some recommendations on what type of strengthening system can be made.

RE: FRP Reinforcement

In China, bonding FRP sheet is cheaper than bonding steel plate for strenthening.

RE: FRP Reinforcement

Mr. Nicholson,

I am new to this site, and have read your post in regard to FRP pricing. If you still desire information on this topic I can help. I have specialized in this field since 1993.
