Hi
I am gonna use Fluent software to model transient natural gas flow in a single pipeline. Is the software powerful in this field?

RE: Hi I am gonna use Fluent software

Hi faramarzi57

Well, the people who would tell you that another code would be better than Fluent for what you want to do, usually just want to sell you something. Maybe Fluent isn't the best in a field, but it will still do the job sufficiently. From my experience with Fluent, if you have the right ad-ons for the code and support from the local Fluent agents then you will get what you want to out of it. Be that combustion problems, pollution simulation or the cooling of turbine blades. The tip is to always check a simulation or two against some known case results, finding the best mesh type, do the mesh independence study and choose the best solution model for the problem.
