Using Fit or spline on polyline with broken linetype

Using Fit or spline on polyline with broken linetype

Using Fit or spline on polyline with broken linetype

(OP)
When drawing a polyline with a broken linetype, AutoCad always starts and ends each segment on a section of line rather than a gap and adjusts the length of the end dashes if necessary.
When I edit polyline and try to fit curve or spline, the linetype is corrupted even more, often creating quite long sections of unbroken line with just a few breaks.
Is there any way to prevent AutoCad from altering the character of the linetype in this way?

RE: Using Fit or spline on polyline with broken linetype

Try
PEDIT [pick the line] "L" and "OFF"

RE: Using Fit or spline on polyline with broken linetype

I think the Captain wants "ON" for the Ltgen so the linetype generation is uniform through the polyline.

On it is, Guys.  Many thanks

Now.  Does anyone know how to set the linetype generation to come ON as the default?

RE: Using Fit or spline on polyline with broken linetype

Set PLINEGEN to 1 to make the default "ON"

RE: Using Fit or spline on polyline with broken linetype

Wow.  You woulda thought AutoDesk would have made that one the default.  Probably dreaming aren't I?
