Catia electrical workbenches

(OP)
Hi all,

I'm an electro-mechanical designer (more electro than mechanical though I work mainly with electronic CAD packages, which are, compared with mechanical CAD, exclusively 2D (an have lots of library work)

My question is about CatiaV5 electric workbenches (Electronic Board Design, Eletrical Routing, Electrical Librarian, etc...).

I haven't heard much about it on this newsgroup. Are they widely used in the industry, or do they remain marginal?

Do they really fill the gap between electronic and mechanical CAD, as they claim to do ?(I have my doubts...)

Do you think they're a plus for an electrical designer? Or should I spend my bucks somewhere else?

Any comments welcome!
