hi all,

Trying to design a martian rover for exploration on mars to analyse soil samples.  Proposing to use a balloon system taking advantage of buoyancy principles but am very interested in aerobot technology, would like to try and incorporate it into our design but need more detailed information.

any hints or references would be greatly appreciated.

Cheers

QinetiQ are designing a UAV. I can't give you further information, since they have landed themselves very firmly in my bad books.

EM,

If you go to this page and click to the "Planetary Exploration Robotics" topic, there are papers described 10 - 15 NASA studies that have been done in microbots.  Maybe something there will be along the lines you are looking for.
