Dust Buildup in Warehouse

Dust Buildup in Warehouse

Dust Buildup in Warehouse

(OP)
We are currently having a problem with a storage warehouse, basically the accumulation of dust on stored product, basically consumer oriented.

The warehouse is a relatively old facility (rented) with huge sliding doors. Their replacement currently is very costly so it is out of the question as is the installation of a positive air pressure system since rental is not on long term.

Doors have to be opened every time a truck loads/unloads product, we are talking about 10 hours/day.

We have a cleaning and maintenance program yet at certain times of the year even with the program at full, dust buildup increases.

Dust source comes form nearby manufacturing sites and surrounding area.

What cost effective solutions are there available to mitigate dust buildup?

RE: Dust Buildup in Warehouse

Maybe your ongoing program with some flexible neoprene or akin apron adjusted to your trucks or vans can be enough. If it is not then you would need to work on filtering any standing cracks with textiles and so on. Since even mere substitution of the doors is not available one refrains to propose even more, yet maybe the reduction in manpower may justify the sustitution even short term.
