Plasma cutting Stainless Steel

(OP)
We've recently purchased a precision plasma cutting system
using interlogic/Inova torches and a Burny 10 LCD controller. I am having trouble setting it up to cut smaller holes ( 1/4" in .134" 316L SS ) does anybody have any suggestions on what type of gasses (were using an H17 mixture), leadins/leadouts, Amps and feedrates might be helpful in achieving a dross free round hole?
thanks
Keith

RE: Plasma cutting Stainless Steel

The faster that you can pierce and cut, the cleaner the hole.  The problem with small holes is that the heat builds up so fast, thereby the dross problem.
