Mounting Accessories

(OP)
I have recently encountered a situation where, I need to mount some sort of mounting pad on equipment for vibration anaylsis.  The type of monitor we are going to use has a temp. probe in the middle, so we can't use pads that have holes.  We plan to epoxy the pads to the mounting surface.  Any info would be appreciated.

RE: Mounting Accessories

We manufacture accessories for mounting sensors. We also custom make items for unique applications. For standard accessories, check out www.reliabilitydirect.com - for custom solutions, please give me a call at 800-899-2241.

RE: Mounting Accessories

I make my own mounting pads out of austenitic stainless steel (ordinary stainless is not magnetic).  Make sure that you machine the upper surface to a fine finish for accel mounting but machine the down side as a "gramaphone" finish so that the epoxy has something to bond to.  I usually drill and tap a 1/4" 28 hole for mounting the accels but if you are only using a magnet you don't need this.  Make sure that the machine surface that you are mounting on is clean and dry and free from grease.
