BS EN 10028 : P500QL2

BS EN 10028 : P500QL2

BS EN 10028 : P500QL2

Dear All,
Can anyone tell me where to find information regarding this material e.i. Yield Strength at certain temperature or the allowable stress. I mean not from the code book. Thanks a lot!!

RE: BS EN 10028 : P500QL2

What do you mean by "not from the code book"?

To get the physical properties you should look in the code book, i.e EN 10028-6 (may be preceeded by BS, DIN etc)

To get the design stresses you should calculate those from the physical properties in accordance with the design code which in your case is probably EN13445 (the new european pressure vessel code) or perhaps EN13480 (the new european piping code)

I don't have a copy of EN10028-6, but I had a look in the Stahlschlüssel (german "key to steel" bible) - the material was listed but without physical properties.

You may anyway find use of the information that was there, including a supplier:

Search for P500QL2:

Hope this helps

Thanks for the reply.
Currently, I try to get EN 10028 part 1~6 but haven't get approval from our management (we are more on ASME). I have a verry urgent job to bid. So, to get information from code book is not an option to me, at least for the time being. Anyway, thanks again and hope that you understand.

RE: BS EN 10028 : P500QL2

Found this on the web searching P500QL2:

http://ped.eurodyn.com/jrc/high_strength_steel/1.pdf

You might be able to find some material strengths in this document.

The design stress for steels (other than Austenitic SS) according to EN13480:

The smaller of:
Yield Strength at Temperature/1.5 or
Tensile strength /2.4
