(OP)
Anyone have any RECENT experience with a large Foundation Fieldbus installation. Good or bad, I would be very interested in your opinions, including whether you think the promised benefits are real [reduced cabling, predictive maintenance, ease of loop check etc].

Thanks in advance

RE: Anyone have any RECENT experience w

I don't have any experience with Foundation Fieldbus but my supervisor does and he is a strong advocate of it.

He did a SAGD project up North that was a Foundation Fieldbus project.  I talked to a few people I knew at site as well as what my supervisor has stated and it seems it's the way to go.  Moreover, we are trying to push Fieldbus on the SAGD project that I'm currently on.

Based on the studies that I've read and other people's hands-on experience, I'm an advocate of it.

Like everything else proper installation is critical.  With that said; yes, Foundation fieldbus lives up to the promises.
