Tapered Threads

(OP)
Has anyone any experience of applying tapered threads in Inventor?

RE: Tapered Threads

If you mean NPT type threads, I have.
I make a coutersink that corresponds with the pipe size and thread. My through hole is taken from the Machinist's Handbook as is the taper angle. I make both hole and countersink within the hole feature. The last tab has c'sink angle. I then apply thread to the taper. The thread shown may not be the proper one, just change it to what you want. Even when using a basic straight hole for NPT, Idw's hole note will call out the proper thread type.
