Aligning views in different viewports

Aligning views in different viewports

Aligning views in different viewports

(OP)
Hi,
I'm trying to find a way to align views that are in different viewports.  The views are created using soldraw, so multiple viewports are necessary.
Thanks.

RE: Aligning views in different viewports

While in paper space, you can move a viewport to the desired position.  Object snaps work on objects in the model space viewport while doing this.  For example, you can move one viewport so that the centre of a circular part (which is in modelspace in that viewport) will have the same paperspace y-value as the centre of that part appearing in another viewport.

RE: Aligning views in different viewports

RiBeneke is right.

How 2:
1. Go to your Layout Tab (or "Paperspace") with the views.
2. Enter the move command, select the box of the viewport as your object.
3. For "Base-point" use object snap to select a point on a part that you know has a corresponding line in the other viewport.
4. Select osnap "perp", and pick the line.
The viewport will move into position accurately.

Good luck-

Hi,

use Express-ToolsV1-9:
"Align Space" and/or "Synchronize Viewports"
