New FAQ Posted
(OP)
Hey folks,
I created a new FAQ on transitioning from 2D to 3D. You can find it here --> FAQ559-838
It'd be nice if we could develop this into something more substantial, so I guess I'm looking for some feedback.

RE: New FAQ Posted
I suppose if transitioning to 3D from 2D is simply installing the 3D software and having it run at a respectable speed is the scope of the problem then its a good FAQ.
However, I would guess that most people who haven't worked in 3D have to learn a few new concepts. So, I take exception that fillets, sweeps, and etc. are not within the scope of the FAQ.
RE: New FAQ Posted
Yeah, I got sort of side-tracked while writting the FAQ. I'll retreat behind the safety of my disclaimer at the end of the FAQ.
I wanted to get the hardware info down, as many people that get into 3D in the begining try to do so with sub-par computers. I also am asking for help in fleshing this out as I don't do molds, surfaces or other things, only basic machined parts, sheet metal and assemblies.
I didn't want to put in under <General Engineering Comuter Programs Discussion> since I want it to deal only with SolidWorks. Trying to write an FAQ to truely cover transitioning from 2D to 3D design would require a whole book (which there are some out there). I just wanted to provide a simple FAQ that a new user could read over and say, "Oh yeah, I never considered that."
