Hi, Can anyone tell me if WLR colu

(OP)
Hi,
Can anyone tell me if WLR column is supposed to leak at the  flanges?  I would presume not, but I have reason to believe that leaks have occured on several of our jobs.  Is there a way to prevent leaking at the 8" column flanges?  We have tried wire brushing the mating surfaces to remove any debris, and have tried re-assembly with and without silicone with the same undesirable results.
If there is not a good way to stop the leaking, is there any rule of thumb to calculate the loss in volume?
Thank you
Rainman55
