Has anyone here been to previous SolidWorks Worlds?

If you have did you feel you got your moneys worth?

RE: SolidWorks World 2004

I attended SW World 2000 and I feel it was worth the expense. In 2000 this was held in New Orleans and was only a 3 hour drive. With the conference being held in Boston it is being labeled as too expensive and I would miss too much work. Given the chance I would really like to attend because there is so much one can learn there.

RE: SolidWorks World 2004

For those of you that have trouble convincing management about the value of the conference, let me offer a "justification" that was written some years ago on the comp.cad.solidworks newsgroup (this version is a little out-dated, but you will get the idea). Look at the numbers on the bottom of the page and make a "business case" to your boss. You might also use the angle that a few days away from the office will certainly promote well-being.

RE: SolidWorks World 2004

I just got a flyer for SW WOrld that shows Boston on a beutiful autumn day.  I doubt it will be so nice in January!  I wonder if there are people skipping this year and waiting for the event to be held in a warmer place.

If the ladies don't find you handsome, they should at least find you handy.

RE: SolidWorks World 2004

Not sure where I heard this but I thought there were going to be smaller meeting spread out of the US sometime after SW World, kind-of mini SW Worlds.
Can anyone validate that?

RE: SolidWorks World 2004

I have not heard that.  There will be a SolidWorks World Confrence in a bunch of different countries this year.  Typically it's only held in the US.

RE: SolidWorks World 2004

They were talking about having regional "SWW's" but looks like they cancelled that plan.

I have been to the past 2 and got LOTS of great information out of them
