anyone have an OTC 4000e or Mac pathfinder scan tool?

anyone have an OTC 4000e or Mac pathfinder scan tool?

anyone have an OTC 4000e or Mac pathfinder scan tool?

(OP)
I am needing a cable to go from the scanner to an OBD II port on a ford.  I bought this scanner off eBay and don't know if it works.  I have an OBD II connector, anyone have the pinout on the 7pin din socket on the OTC 4000e?

Thanks,
jason

Jaspax, I have the 4000E ( not Enhanced, there is a difference), and to my knowledge, it will not do OBDII. I have been told I will have to upgrade to at least the 4000 Enhanced model for OBDII compatibility. If you know otherwise, please let me know!

Hi Pat.
I don't know much about these.  I thought the 4000e was the enhanced model?  I found an adapter module on eBay to allow your 4000e (enhanced) to run OBDII.  It plugs in the bottom where the cartriges go.  I think OTC sells this as an upgrade kit.  I guess, I would have to have the adapter module also to read OBD II.
Thanks,

I thought so also, but if you have a straight 4000E, the AlphaNumeric display and keypad is quite different from the Enhanced model. It will say either 4000E or 4000 Enhanced, with the keypad being irregularly shaped on the Enhanced, along with big arrow keys.

If you have the E model and get this to work, let me know!
( I must admit, I really want to step up to a Tech2, but the 4400 dollar price tag has me quivering! )
