SCHEDULE 10 PVC PIPE SOURCES????

SCHEDULE 10 PVC PIPE SOURCES????

SCHEDULE 10 PVC PIPE SOURCES????

(OP)
I had a customer asking for Schedule 10 PVC pipe. I have never heard of this nor can I find sources, but he says he sees it all the time in his lineof work which is vaccuum systems. I'm a newbie and would appreciate any information. I thought maybe it was called something else in the industry.
THANKS SO MUCH!-Melissa

RE: SCHEDULE 10 PVC PIPE SOURCES????

Mellisa,

I "GOOGLED"  "schedule 10" PVC and got several hits..

Scheule 10 PVC piping exists, but due to its flimsy nature is used mostly for building drain or ventilation lines.

Aside from very small diameters, I think it may fail in (full) vacuum service........how much vacuum do you have ?

RE: SCHEDULE 10 PVC PIPE SOURCES????

Most plumbing supply houses and other pipe supply companies should be able to get sch10 PVC -- when I was in college, I worked at a hardware store in a small town that handled it (full service hardware stores existed a lot of places prior to the arrival of WalMart) -- I use it now over conduit for replacing wooden clothes rods... (it's been awhile, but I thought Lowe's handled it -- I may be wrong, though...)
