Contracting an Engineer

Contracting an Engineer

Contracting an Engineer

(OP)

I'm looking for an electrical engineer to help secure a patent and further develop a idea for a consumer product.

Does anyone have any suggestions on how I might find someone with the expertise I might need?

RE: Contracting an Engineer

Talk to a patent attoney first, by law they must also be an engineer and could probally point you in the right direction.

RE: Contracting an Engineer

Suggestion: Download a few patents closest to your area of interest and see which pattent attorneys and consultants have been involved. Visit
http://www.alphapatent.com/downloader.cgi
for free patent downloads

RE: Contracting an Engineer

I suggest first have your consultant sign a non-disclosure agreement. Do a preliminary novelty search at <uspto.gov>.

Check out the attorney, to at the same WEB site.
DON'T deal with fly-by-night idea-dealers, etc.
