Minimum pup length

(OP)
When welding process piping to code B.31.3 is there a minimum pup length you can use pertaining to the thickness of wall, or if anyone could tell me where to find this information thanx.

RE: Minimum pup length

B31.3 has NO requirement that dictates the length of pipe or distance between welds. There MAY BE some engineering reasons to limit this on certain materials but as far as the code goes. NO restriction.

Project Specifications will oftentimes go above and beyond the content of the code. This is the option of owner and would usually be referred to in the Purchase order.
