Trim problems Acad 2004

Trim problems Acad 2004

Help! I have developed a problem when using the trim tool, after picking the trim line, I select the line to be trimmed and only small portions of the line are trimmed away, not even up to the trim line. The software has been installed for a while now and the problem only seems to have developed recently. As you can imagine this is b@#*~y annoying. I don't recall changing any settings within Autcocad that tie in with the problem starting. Any ideas??

EDGEMODE -> 0 ???

RE: Trim problems Acad 2004

Edgemode is probably the issue.
Good one, Lothar

It might be that Viewres set too low and you are zoomed out too far?  If you zoom in and regen, does it look right?

This is 2D, right?

RE: Trim problems Acad 2004

cadfool, when you select the triming edge (after right click) check the options are not on EXTEND- this will extend the trim edge to intersect with the line to be trimmed. If you use an arc as trim line, you will often only trim a little at a time as EXTEND will draw a tangent line as the real edge, not the one you see on screen i.e:

Select object to trim or shift-select to extend or [Project/Edge/Undo]: e
Enter an implied edge extension mode [Extend/No extend] <No extend>:
Set this to 'No extend'
